Hearing step by Step

The initial consultation consists of an examination of your ears and auditory canals and this
aural medical history is noted. A full hearing assessment (Pressure test middle ear, hearing
test and speech test) is then carried out. Once the assessment is complete we explain the
results & discuss the need for hearing aids and their benefits plus various other options
available to you. We will advise if any further investigation by your GP or other hearing
health professionals is required.

An order confirmation and contract confirming details of purchase, including an invoice
that is payable at the initial fitting stage is supplied together with a full explanation of
the 30-day Trial Period. Open fit hearing aids can be ordered for fitting within a couple of
days. Impression of ear(s) for production of custom-made hearing aid mould/s are taken.

Initial fitting of hearing instrument/s Programming / setting aid/s to suit your specific
hearing loss and lifestyle is carried out. Full instruction on the use and care of the
instrument is given. Objectives and goals are set to maximise benefit from the hearing
instrument/s. Receipt of payment and a plan of the timetable for review appointments is
made.

1st Review - One week or 2 weeks after fitting -
adjustments to instrument/s as required

If you do not wish to try a hearing aid at this stage we encourage you to take
your time to consider your options in the comfort of your own home. Medical
reports or referrals are forwarded to the relevant doctors within two days of
your initial consultation. Your notes are kept on file for future reference. Should
you decide you would like to try a hearing aid at a later date we are able to
continue with the process. If clients schedule a date to purchase hearing aid/s
within two weeks from the initial consultation, the cost of the hearing
assessment will be refunded.
